Location/Hours: Brown Deer, WI (in office, M-F 7:00 am to 3:30 pm) What you will be doing: Maintains and repairs office furniture and equipment including replacement of parts, cleaning, touch-up spray painting and lubrication. Transport and assembles all office furniture including shelving, bookcases, desks and wall units. Arrange furniture according to specified instructions in preparation for special meetings, parties and other functions. Loads and unloads of various materials and merchandise from trucks and other transporting devices. Performs minor electrical work, light construction and painting and wall repair, as needed. Performs and documents general fleet maintenance services. Monitors and maintains inventory including ordering various maintenance/facilities supplies. In a team leader capacity, may oversee a team of facilities/maintenance personnel including providing work direction, training and input regarding personnel decisions. May work with specialized outside contractors. May perform parking lot duties including sweeping and picking up debris. May perform light snow and ice removal during winter months. May be required to perform landscaping duties as needed. Watches for and reports irregularities such as unusual floor conditions and any building malfunctions. Duties must be performed in accordance with local and national building codes. Other related duties assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Typically requires two or more years' maintenance experience, as well as previous experience assembling and installation of office furniture. Must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Knowledge of use of office equipment
  • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
  • Proficiency in the assembly and installation of modular office furniture
  • Must complete OSHA training and adhere to established OSHA program
  • Knowledge of the use of power tools, moving equipment, grounds equipment, trucks, trailers, etc.
  • Knowledge of proper safety techniques and requirements
