About The Position

The City of Carlsbad is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance of various facilities. This role involves performing general maintenance tasks, including building upkeep, minor repairs, and general labor activities. The position is limited to 20 hours per week, primarily during weekdays, with occasional weekend work required.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid California driver's license.
• Ability to use hand and light power tools required in general facility maintenance work.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 75 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to work independently and establish cooperative relationships in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

• Experience performing duties comparable to those of a Maintenance Assistant for at least six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist building maintenance staff with general maintenance activities.
