About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance and Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment within industrial facilities, as well as performing routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both industrial cleaning and technical maintenance with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and external contacts.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours or be on-call for emergency maintenance situations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, walls, and ceilings in industrial settings.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, machinery, and workspaces according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Dispose of waste materials in designated containers and ensure proper recycling procedures are followed.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages on equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety procedures and use protective gear, such as gloves and masks, when handling hazardous materials or operating heavy machinery.
  • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, replacing parts, and inspecting electrical systems, to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the root cause and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Conduct minor repairs of mechanical systems in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
