Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Facilities/Industrial Engineering Intern located in our Austin, TX site. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the intern will work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues, to develop skills and experiences. Our collaborative culture extends to our summer interns who will spend time as a cohort completing a Kaizen and volunteering in the community while also working independently on projects and daily duties with their respective teams. Requirements
- Currently enrolled Senior pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (undergrad)
- Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Available to start on May 26th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- 3.0 minimum GPA

- Previous manufacturing internship experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering design principles to develop manufacturing equipment layouts, facility utility requirements, process flows, and equipment requirements used in processing or manufacturing products
- Evaluate facility impact of engineering proposals by documenting process and utility requirements, space utilization, and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design
- Assist with manufacturing decision-making by providing technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, process advantages and limitations, cost and scheduling, and space allocation constraints
- Recommend methods for improving process efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as reorganizing work flow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of new equipment
- Interface with product, test, quality, and other engineering groups to understand manufacturing requirements and design constraints
- Evaluate high-level plant space usage and process locations to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and facilitate the integration of new product lines
- Participate in initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, and improve performance in constrained areas like LEAN, Automation and/or Six-Sigma projects
