The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Facilities Industrial Engineer to work at our new state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) near the airport in Huntsville, AL, which will be our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. The Engineering team members specify, develop and transition manufacturing processes from development to production. This Engineering position requires motivated, self-starting individuals with experience to develop high volume manufacturing cell layouts within our facility. They must be able to follow company procedures and requirements for the manufacture of advanced, man-rated, and high value aerospace hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Industrial or Facilities Engineering experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Industrial or Facilities experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Industrial or Facilities engineering experience.
  • 2+ years experience setting up manufacturing cells at new facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • High volume manufacturing cell layout experience.
  • Advanced understanding of facility utilities, controls and systems.
  • Proven history of troubleshooting facility systems, equipment and controls.
  • Proven history of problem solving and corrective action implementation to increase efficiency.
  • Apply I.I.O.T. and engineering principles to automate and enhance controls and systems.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, initiate and maintain manufacturing cell layouts for the fabrication of advanced composite parts.
  • Create and set up Industrial Internet of Things (I.I.O.T.) process monitoring systems for the facilities, equipment, and processes.
  • Support facility and manufacturing quality, safety, and environmental requirements while developing and enhancing shop floor systems and controls in the support of advanced composite manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to shop floor support and manufacturing groups.
  • Troubleshoot facility systems, equipment and controls and develop robust corrective actions to improve facility efficiency.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications in support of developing robust and advanced systems and controls.
  • Interface with all of the related support groups and manufacturing groups for daily support.
  • Work with internal maintenance and outside contractors to support the maintenance of the overall performance of the physical facility.
  • Special Projects as assigned.
