About The Position

The Facilities & Grounds Manager at Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania is responsible for overseeing all landscape activities on the Sewickley Campus. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing a long-range landscape management program while ensuring the highest quality of service and adherence to the organization's mission of love. The manager will supervise staff, manage contractors, and ensure the maintenance and improvement of the campus's grounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in horticulture or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Minimum of four years technical training in horticulture or related field with two years of practical experience.
  • Ability to acquire Pennsylvania pesticide application certification.
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of small power equipment.
  • Proven skills in communication, organization, and record keeping.
  • Minimum of two years in a landscape supervisory capacity.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and participate in all landscape activities including soil testing, fertilizing, planting, and mowing.
  • Plan and implement a long-range landscape management program.
  • Coordinate with contractors for plantings and maintenance of flower beds.
  • Select and design trees and shrubs for new and existing landscape sites.
  • Order seeds, plants, and supplies as needed for the campus.
  • Oversee contracted services for spraying programs and landscape maintenance activities.
  • Conduct a bid process for contracted work.
  • Maintain tools and equipment used in landscape management.
  • Propose and submit budget requirements for the landscape division.
  • Schedule and inspect woodlands and trees for maintenance.
  • Consult with nurserymen on plant propagation and pest control measures.
  • Keep records and write reports on landscape activities.
  • Communicate with personnel regarding pesticide spraying and emergency situations.
  • Manage snow removal and assist with Christmas decorations.
