Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Are you a hardworking, hands-on problem solver looking to grow your skills? Hudson’s Furniture is hiring a Skilled Laborer to support grounds and building maintenance as well as daily facility care across our warehouse, showroom, and office spaces. This role offers hands-on experience in multiple trades while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Note: This is an independent contractor role with potential for permanent employment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Grounds Perform general maintenance tasks including light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and insulation installation within the warehouse Operate hand tools, power tools, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment Conduct routine property inspections for safety hazards, trash removal, and repair needs Change light bulbs and perform minor electrical maintenance Maintain irrigation systems, including identifying and repairing sprinkler leaks, valves, and heads Install warehouse insulation as needed Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging, raking, lifting heavy items, and working from ladders Follow direction from the Site Manager and collaborate effectively with team members Facility Care & Sanitation Perform daily cleaning of the warehouse, showroom, and office spaces Sweep and maintain floors throughout all facilities Remove trash and debris and ensure proper disposal Clean and restock bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and supplies Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms and common areas Help ensure all workspaces are clean, organized, and presentable at all times Report cleaning or maintenance concerns to management promptly This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements
- 1+ year of maintenance, grounds, or facility care experience preferred
- Knowledge of general tools, landscaping equipment, and irrigation systems
- Experience with warehouse insulation installation is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and eager to develop new skills

- Experience with warehouse insulation installation is a plus
