About The Position

ERG is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians at the Naval Support Facility in Indian Head, Maryland. This role will initially focus on transportation and vehicle operations, including moving cars, trucks, trailers, and containers to support smooth facility and vehicle maintenance operations. Over time, the role will expand to include supervising groundskeeping and facilities maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supervising or leading a maintenance, landscaping, or facilities team
  • Experience operating facility vehicles and moving equipment such as cars, trucks, trailers, and containers
  • Working knowledge of landscaping tools, building maintenance practices, and safety procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on work when needed
  • Ability to obtain base access and work on a federal installation
  • This position will require a pre-employment physical exam
  • This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 and up to 100 pounds
  • Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
  • You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily transportation and vehicle operations, ensuring safe and efficient movement of cars, trucks, trailers, and containers
  • Supervise and plan groundskeeping activities, including mowing, trimming, weed whacking, and snow removal
  • Oversee and assist with general building maintenance projects, including painting, light repairs, and minor renovations
  • Manage work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper use of tools and safety procedures
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members
  • Coordinate with other departments and contractors to support facility operations and project needs
  • Respond to emergencies and prioritize repair or maintenance issues as they arise
