About The Position

About The Role The Lead Day Porter is a vital role responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of our facilities while serving as the primary point of contact for third-party custodial staff. This position bridges hands-on cleaning responsibilities with leadership and administrative tasks to ensure that all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and functionality. The Lead Day Porter will oversee the performance of custodial teams, manage the inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies, and develop schedules to ensure consistent coverage for daily operations and special events. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as the Lead Day Porter will coordinate with facilities management and other departments to address specific cleaning and maintenance needs efficiently. By fostering accountability among custodial staff and maintaining seamless operations, the Lead Day Porter plays a crucial role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients. What you get to do every day Facility Maintenance: Oversee daily cleaning and upkeep of the warehouse, ensuring all areas are safe, organized, and presentable. Manage waste disposal, including recycling, organics, hazardous materials, and general trash removal. Communicate any maintenance issues to Facility Management. Team Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate the porter team to meet performance and quality standards. Assign tasks to team members and ensure timely completion. Conduct regular inspections to verify cleaning standards and compliance with safety protocols. Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment inventory. Coordinate orders with Assistant Facilities Manager for supplies to ensure no interruptions in daily operations. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards throughout the facility. Conduct safety checks and identify potential hazards in the workspace. Train the team on safety procedures and emergency protocols. Event Support: Provide setup and breakdown support for warehouse events or activities. Assist with rearranging layouts to accommodate operational needs. Communication and Coordination: Liaise with Facilities Management, warehouse staff, and vendors to ensure smooth operations. Communicate daily goals and updates to the porter team. Maintain detailed records of maintenance tasks and inspections. What You Bring To The Role Minimum Requirements: 3-5 years of custodial experience. Proven knowledge of cleaning chemicals and processes. The expected hourly rate for this role is $18.53-$23.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
