About The Position

Highlights Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Facilities General Contractor to join our corporate support team. Our team supports our ABA therapy Learning Centers and our sister company's hospice locations throughout the southeast. The Facilities General Contractor is responsible for leading multiple teams to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects, with a focus on communication, scheduling, budgeting, safety, and quality. This role is ideal for a contractor who values integrity, craftsmanship, and seamless execution. This role is responsible for managing construction work on-site, including labor, materials, timelines, and collaboration with our designers and architects. The Facilities General Contractor takes full ownership of the build phase and ensure that our creative visions are brought to life with safety, quality, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Active State of North Carolina license required (or applicable local license for international hires)
  • Must provide license number and proof of good standing
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and high-quality construction sites
  • Strong working knowledge of local codes, safety standards, inspections and permitting process
  • Flexibility to travel, as needed.
  • Well-organized and apt in problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Manage job sites from pre-construction to project closeout
  • Coordinate subcontractors, materials, permits, and inspections
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, safety protocols, and budgets
  • Review and interpret architectural and interior design plans
  • Communicate with clients and leadership team on progress and updates
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant worksite
  • Resolve site challenges and provide proactive solutions
  • Provide billing documentation, change orders, and punch lists
  • Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors, monitors work of vendors or contractors.
  • Follows local and state building codes.
  • Complies with all company safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
