About The Position

The Facilities Event Coordinator at Syracuse University is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of events within the university's facilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Facilities Management, or a related field or proven experience in event coordination, preferably with a focus on facilities management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with campus clients and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with event management or facility management software and facility scheduling tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety and accessibility regulations related to event spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all logistical aspects of events, including space setup, equipment, and facility arrangements.
  • Collaborate with facilities management to ensure appropriate room layouts, furniture, and other logistical requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with custodial to ensure the facility is well-prepared before, during, and after events.
  • Manage event schedules and ensure there is no overlap or conflicts with other events or facility maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any facilities-related issues that arise during events, including custodial needs, grounds needs, electrical needs, temperature control, or furniture placement.
  • Prepare post-event reports and collect feedback to continuously improve event planning and execution processes.
  • Work closely with campus clients and internal teams to understand event needs and provide recommendations on space and facilities usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and accessibility standards in all event spaces.
