About The Position

The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the classified position of Facilities & Equipment Assistant. This position is responsible for maintaining, issuing, inventorying, laundering, and storing athletic uniforms and equipment, as well as maintaining athletics facilities in a clean and sanitary condition. The role involves preparing and maintaining playing fields, courts, and related facilities for kinesiology classes, practices, and special events. The position is classified as journey-level and requires general supervision from the Athletics Director or a Dean, while providing technical and functional direction to student workers.

Requirements

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
• One (1) year of experience in an athletic environment with experience in maintaining athletic facilities and/or equipment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver's License by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains playing fields, courts, and related facilities in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sets up and tears down designated areas for kinesiology classes, practices, and events.
• Maintains athletic and kinesiology equipment, supplies, and uniforms in good repair.
• Issues and collects uniforms, equipment, and supplies for kinesiology classes and competitive use.
• Maintains records of equipment issued to individuals and issues locks and lockers to students.
• Assists in packing and loading equipment for trips and controls equipment use at athletic events.
• Recommends purchase of equipment and supplies; orders and stores supplies and equipment as needed.
• Learns and applies emerging technologies related to the area of assignment.
