About The Position

The Facilities Engineering Technician for Fire Alarm Systems is responsible for the continuous operation and maintenance of life safety systems that support manufacturing. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, troubleshooting system alarms, and ensuring proper system operation. The technician will work in a team environment, focusing on customer satisfaction and may require weekend coverage.

Requirements

  • Technical/associate degree in science, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline, or Military Equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Notifier Large Analog Fire Systems - ADT Unimode Certification.
  • Vesda Air Sampling smoke detectors certificate.
  • Multi-net Manager Software training regarding ECAMS.
  • Experience in Semiconductor, Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C / PLC systems.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fire alarm system programming and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and visual inspection tours.
  • Respond to error messages or trouble alarms within the systems and/or equipment.
  • Upgrade and maintain central alarm system operations.
  • Assist the site fire alarm technician with annual life safety duties.
  • Recognize and respond to system and equipment malfunctions independently.
  • Cross train facility employees with the central fire alarm system for the EFK site.
  • Utilize computers to document and communicate system status for all site operation systems, including shift logs.
  • Maintain the headend monitoring Servers containing the Screen Database (SDB) for monitoring and dispatching alarms.
  • Routine programming of additions and deletions, synchronization of databases, backups, and archiving system data for disaster recovery.
  • Interact with customers such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.
