About The Position

In this position... The Facilities Engineer is responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives with production equipment, securing project funding through creation and submission of appropriations requests, operating an internal fabrication shop with the mechanical and sometimes electrical trades, and covering for absences among the Maintenance Process Coaches and occasionally Automation Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or technical related discipline
  • Demonstrable experience implementing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodology
  • Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic and robot programming
  • Knowledge of Industrial Equipment and Facilities Management
  • Project Management experience

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in forward model cost studies, 8D analysis, and Six Sigma
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Basic controls knowledge
  • Experience with Procurement Processes and ProTag Process
  • Experience with Plant Floor Systems, including FIS, Maximo, and PCON
  • Ability to solve problems with analytics
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience with Conflict Management

Responsibilities

  • The Facilities Engineer should be able to work autonomously to identify root cause of problems with production equipment and implement solutions.
  • The Facilities Engineer should be a liaison between the Final Assembly area and the staff-level engineering teams and work to in-source projects which would otherwise be sent to outside contractors.
  • Coordinate all facility services, including grounds maintenance and purchased services and commodity suppliers
  • Maintain facility health assessments, regulatory and mandatory inspections, and other building and facility (B&F) functions
  • Lead procurement process for B&F items within the plant
  • Track and manage project work including interfacing between management and skilled workforce
  • Manage as-built and facility drawings, including all blue print and scope of work for new programs
  • Lead MWF Management, including coolants, lubricants, water quality, and waste
  • Lead all aspects of production filtration
  • Interface with environmental PECE to maintain compliance
  • Interact with UAW, Leaders, Supervision, and Management on a daily basis
  • Lastly the Facilities Engineer should be able to respond to breakdowns in-field and assist in troubleshooting and restoring equipment to operation.
  • This position will require occasional weekend and afternoon and night shift work.
