The 12‑month Caterpillar Career Pathways Program provides high school seniors with an opportunity to build foundational technical and professional skills in preparation for a long‑term career in Facilities Engineering and Machine Processing at Caterpillar. Selected students participate in a structured, multi‑phase program designed to develop skills in engineering support, digital tools, and facilities operations, preparing them for full‑time employment upon high school graduation. Participants earn high school credit while gaining hands‑on experience and receiving a paid hourly wage from Caterpillar. The Career Pathways Program consists of three phases: Phase I: Summer Internship Introduction to Caterpillar facilities, engineering processes, machine processing environments, and digital design tools. Phase II: Fall Semester Co‑Op (For High School Credit) On‑the‑job learning focused on facilities engineering support, documentation, and data tracking using engineering and office software. Phase III: Spring Semester Co‑Op (For High School Credit) Advanced exposure to machine processing operations, layout support, and preparation for full‑time roles in facilities or engineering support functions. The Facilities Engineering – Machine Processing role supports Caterpillar’s manufacturing and facilities infrastructure by assisting with engineering documentation, machine layouts, data tracking, and operational support.
