Your Role We are hiring a Facilities Engineering Intern to join our team for a 3-month summer internship supporting a dynamic biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to facility engineering processes and continuous improvement initiatives that support GMP-compliant manufacturing. The intern will work closely with Facilities, Engineering, and Operational Excellence teams to analyze workflows, support improvement projects, and enhance facility performance, reliability, and efficiency. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Clear and strong writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Goal and results oriented, with strong drive to learn.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in GMP-regulated environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Operational Excellence initiatives, participating in identifying process improvement opportunities related to facility maintenance, utilities, and operational workflows.
  • Assist with documentation updates including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, specifications, engineering drawings, and process maps.
  • Analyze data from facility systems, maintenance records, and operational metrics to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping for utility system operations, maintenance activities, deviations, and change control events.
  • Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement projects focused on facility efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and facilities staff on utility systems, infrastructure projects, and preventative maintenance improvements.
  • Participate in team meetings, site walkthroughs, and improvement workshops.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Benefits

  • Adhering to the requirements of California's law on salary transparency, the hourly bracket for this role is set between $19 - $24. The rate offered may be adjusted based on various factors such as the applicant's qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
