This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer I will support the design of new infrastructure and buildings under the guidance of a licensed engineer. This role is ideal for a candidate who has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and has the ambition to eventually obtain a Professional Engineering license. The successful candidate will assist in the production of design and construction documents, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering solutions.

  • Support the design of new infrastructure and buildings under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist in the production of design and construction documents, including mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct research and provide support for mechanical design solutions and concepts. For systems including HVAC, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, etc.
  • Prepare and review mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Support the coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, technologies, and advancements to contribute to project innovation.
  • Prepare for and pursue a Professional Engineering license after gaining the required experience.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on best practices and design principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced engineering technologies.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a mechanical engineering firm.
