Your Role: The Facilities Engineer is responsible for overall operation of MEP infrastructure, assessing operational needs and developing project criteria, scope requirements, and implementation plans for facility mechanical system design activities across engineering and maintenance projects. The Facilities Engineer evaluates and applies new technologies and effective methods to achieve objectives, while developing, documenting, and continuously improving applicable mechanical systems and standards. In addition, the Facilities Engineer supports energy and risk management, conducts failure analysis, and contributes to reliability engineering for the pharmaceutical R&D campus and remote office sites, as needed. Impacts business operations through system operational reliability, risk engineering, and project performance related to quality, schedule, and cost. Act as Owner, Facility’s Engineering subject matter expert on all MEP infrastructure and control systems, develop and implement predictive/preventive maintenance strategies. Be curious, recognize system operational challenges, take ownership, and implement system enhancements to reduce risk and enhance efficiencies. Foster a safety culture by collaborating with EHS, implementing Prevention through Design, and promoting BeSafe programs. Conduct engineering risk audits at internal and third-party sites, serve as the landlord MEP relationship owner for remote locations, and oversee MEP OPEX/CAPEX budget forecasting, development, and monitoring. Support and deliver on sustainability goals/initiatives such as EnergyStar, LEED, and WELL Building Standard. Train staff on new and existing systems to ensure proper operation, manage the commissioning of new and existing MEP systems, and provide technical support for Environment, Health, and Safety issues. Support and respond to business related disruptions (planned or unplanned) following established escalation process including but not limited to supporting emergency plans, disaster recovery plans, business continuity process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Mechanical preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in Facilities Engineering in biotech/pharmaceutical environment

  • CEM Certification
  • LEED / WELL Building Standard AP
  • Strong background in predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, and energy management
  • Project management for MEP upgrades
  • Expert in MEP & control system operation and troubleshooting
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, AutoCAD, and CMMS Applications
  • Self-starter with excellent planning and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of current building codes
  • Experience with the design and engineering analysis of complex mechanical systems and issues
