About The Position

The Facilities Engineer operates, maintains, quotes, upgrades, repairs and improves all systems and equipment. They will work within established design, planning, regulations, and decision-making criteria of US Kyocera facilities. They are responsible for execution of projects with exposure to budgets, schedules, timelines, and materials for any facility modifications and repairs. Directly supports the departmental manager to oversee repairs and new construction projects.

Requirements

  • Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college.
  • 5-8 years recent related experience in maintenance concepts, safety codes and building engineering
  • 2 years’ experience in clean room environment
  • 3 years knowledge of standard safety hazards and precautions
  • skills with various hand tools, spatial measurements and blueprints
  • Computer proficiency in maintenance management software as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

Responsibilities

  • Support minor water treatment operations, closed-loop systems, and/or basic RO or filtration systems, including monitoring water quality, chemical dosing, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Troubleshoot and support equipment controlled by PLCs, including basic logic understanding, I/O troubleshooting, and coordination with controls engineers or integrators.
  • Coordinates and may supervise hourly personnel such as Electricians, Maintenance mechanics, and Machine operators at all levels in the plant engineering group on projects.
  • Complies with HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Operates SAP preventative maintenance system and Spare Part system to provide monthly downtime report to management.
  • Responsible for a wide variety of routine maintenance and repair on HVAC, electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Interacts with production supervisors to minimize downtime and may schedules others in in the plant-engineering group to provide optimum support.
  • Dismantles equipment with hand tools. Replaces defective mechanical parts and troubleshoots. May work closely with vendor and order needed parts.
  • Coordinates any inspections (electrical, water, Utility etc.). Follows all federal, state, and local codes. Manages facility routine maintenance work and project execution.
  • Assist in achieving cost and quality objectives, including energy efficiency optimization in the facility.
  • Works with a variety of contractors on new construction and remodel projects. Reads blueprints and contracts to coordinate deliverables. Monitors performance of contractor and central services like security, waste disposal, parking etc.
  • Maintains records, reports, reports, pictures, and files as required. May be included in audits (internal and external).
  • Purchases equipment supplies and materials as needed. May write ringis and track related expenses for projects.
  • Alerts management of any unsafe conditions and provides building recommendations.
  • Onsite work has a high variety of duties and work inside and outside the building. Frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards. Occasional after hour or weekend work. Wide variety of monitoring systems.
  • Supports Manager and Sr. Manager and is responsible for reporting on technical and infrastructure issues (HVAC, electricity, fire safety, purified water etc.) which could jeopardize manufacturing.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
