About The Position

Greenlight Networks is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all facility-related systems and infrastructure. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the physical environment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards. This role involves working closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and other internal departments to support the daily operations of the facility.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent project management, budgeting, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance engineering, or a similar role.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the routine maintenance, repairs, and operation of the building’s infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and other facility systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Respond to facility-related emergency situations promptly and efficiently to minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Ensure that the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, environmental, and building codes.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits and prepare reports on findings with recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinate the facility’s safety programs, including emergency evacuation plans and fire drills.
  • Lead and oversee facility-related projects, including building renovations, equipment upgrades, and system installations.
  • Work with external contractors and vendors to plan, budget, and implement projects efficiently.
  • Track project timelines and budgets, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within cost.
  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including janitorial services, security, landscaping, and maintenance contractors.
  • Evaluate and negotiate service contracts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
  • Assist in the preparation of the facility maintenance budget, tracking expenses and forecasting future facility-related costs.
  • Prepare regular reports on facility performance, maintenance activities, and any issues that require attention.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase facility reliability.
  • Stay up to date on new technologies and trends in facility management, recommending innovations as applicable.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., IT, HR, operations) to coordinate activities and resolve facility-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and staff about facility needs, maintenance schedules, and any disruptions or outages.
