Facilities Engineer

QorvoRichardson, TX

About The Position

Qorvo's Facilities Engineering team is seeking a motivated and technically skilled engineer to support critical semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role serves as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for mechanical and utility systems, driving reliability, safety, and performance across our fab infrastructure. You'll take real ownership of systems, lead projects with measurable impact, and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. This is an opportunity to grow your career alongside senior engineering leaders while contributing to the operational excellence of one of the industry's most innovative semiconductor manufacturers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in facilities engineering within semiconductor, data center, or other industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Solid foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer as applied to real-world systems.
  • Experience with industrial mechanical systems (HVAC, hot/chill water systems, exhaust, compressed air, or gas systems).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; SolidWorks or similar design tools a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for data analysis, modeling, and system tracking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with control systems, Building Management Systems, Industrial instrumentation, and SCADA
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fab utilities (UPW, process gases, chemical delivery, abatement)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active pursuit preferred
  • Experience managing vendor and contractor relationships

Responsibilities

  • Serve as system owner for assigned facilities utilities — monitoring performance, managing documentation, and driving lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and maintenance of water, exhaust, and HVAC systems to support fab operations, labs, and cleanrooms.
  • Lead engineering deep dives of critical mechanical systems to identify risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities.
  • Design and analyze mechanical systems; develop scopes of work for capital projects, conduct feasibility studies, and evaluate mechanical system designs.
  • Perform capacity vs. demand analyses to support production growth, tool installs, and capital planning — maintaining and optimizing the Facilities Tool Utility Matrix.
  • Leverage data analytics and AI-assisted tools to anticipate system capacity constraints and drive continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex system faults, lead root cause analyses, and implement long-term corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve system stability.
  • Conduct root cause failure analyses to address equipment issues and manage long-term improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain facilities documentation including as-built drawings, SOPs, Sequences of Operation (SOOs), P&IDs, and Preventive Maintenance (PM) strategies.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities related to mechanical systems and environmental standards.
  • Support process equipment installations, facility tie-ins, and construction activities including design reviews, field coordination, and commissioning.
  • Act as a key partner to Fab Engineering, EHS, Operations, Energy, and TGCM teams to ensure alignment and execution of facilities goals.
  • Manage and oversee contracted service providers to ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with site standards and scope of work.
