The Cardiopulmonary Business unit has a unique portfolio of leading cardiopulmonary products that are used to treat millions of patients worldwide. It is designed to meet evolving standards of safety and reliability to deliver lifesaving care to patients. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for improving facility operations by capital projects, troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, coordinating calibration activities and making process improvements.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years previous equipment engineering experience preferred.
  • Multi-crafted engineer capable of working within different systems (QMS, Safety, Facilities, etc.) and able to work closely with other departments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad or Solid Works is required.
  • GMP experience required; knowledge of regulatory or FDA requirements as required for the position preferred.
  • Customer focus and attempts to exceed customer expectations.
  • Desire to challenge oneself and the organization to improve.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in prescribed period, meet deadlines, and exhibits a sense of urgency.
  • Possesses methodical documentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve within a complex environment.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related degree or equivalent commensurate experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior medical device equipment design, process development and validation experience preferred.
  • Design for manufacturability and design for Six Sigma (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Designs and optimizes complex manufacturing, facility, and site safety equipment to support operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Manages site-wide calibration activities in accordance with ISO standards, ensuring equipment remains available and operational.
  • Aligns technical decisions with the company’s business strategy, driving innovation and process improvements.
  • Leads validation, testing, and approval of design modifications and process changes to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes complex technical challenges, identifies root causes, and develops effective solutions.
  • Evaluates processes and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
  • Leads major projects, overseeing planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting to ensure successful execution.
  • Manages high-impact initiatives, tackling complex challenges that are critical to organizational success.
  • Ensures project completion within established deadlines and budget constraints, maintaining alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensures compliance by interpreting and implementing FDA and regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Keeps up to date with emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to maintain compliance and innovation.
  • Applies market and competitor insights to enhance operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Represents the organization as a subject matter expert, providing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Leverages insights from multiple departments to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Effectively communicates findings, challenges, and solutions across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
