The Facilities Engineer Intern/Co-op position at Shultz Steel, a subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC), offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the engineering field. Under the supervision of the Facilities Engineering leader, the intern will engage in various activities related to the research, design, and implementation of new equipment and systems, as well as retrofitting existing plant equipment. This role is crucial for supporting facility repairs and improvements, ensuring that the operations run smoothly and efficiently. The intern will be expected to work either full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week), accumulating a total of 800 hours during their internship. The intern will participate in and support the facilities and maintenance engineering team, focusing on either electrical programs or facilities plant engineering projects. Responsibilities include assisting engineers with the design, development, integration, and testing of new and retrofitted equipment and facility upgrades. The intern will also support planning and research efforts to collect data, develop equipment, and ensure that facility specifications are met. Providing entry to intermediate level technical support to maintenance, production, and quality departments is also a key aspect of this role. Compliance with PCC's Code of Conduct is mandatory, and other duties may be assigned as needed. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
