The Energy Manager is responsible for supporting energy management programs and initiatives to achieve energy reduction and carbon footprint goals for the MercyOne Genesis Health System.

  • Develop and execute site specific Energy Management Plans.
  • Oversee consultants and contractors providing energy services.
  • Support the Health System in performing tasks required for compliance with applicable energy and carbon reduction legislation.
  • Perform energy audits, retro-commissioning, and system optimization activities.
  • Develop energy conservation measures and manage resulting energy projects.
  • Develop appropriate Measurement and Verification protocols and manage implementation.
  • Perform energy data collection, analysis, and reporting to track performance against established goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure the integration of energy-saving measures into facility operations and project plans.
  • Assist in managing energy budgets.
  • Develop and oversee submetering plan.
  • Perform tasks to identify and obtain available incentives.
  • Develop and present energy & financial analyses to justify energy investments.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Engineering on BAS controls upgrades to ensure consistent operating protocols across the system.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in energy technology and practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Energy Management, Facilities Management or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting) and building management control systems (BMS/BAS).
  • Certified Energy Manager Certification (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification required.
  • Proficiency in energy data analysis tolls and benchmarking platforms such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • 4 Year degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science or Project Management.
  • Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) certification preferred.
