About The Position

This position is responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of facility electrical systems and related infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role combines electrical engineering expertise with facilities management to support critical systems, implement improvements, and lead projects that enhance performance and compliance.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in arc flash analysis tools and electrical load flow calculations.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, CMMS platforms, and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E, electrical safety standards, and energy conservation practices.
  • Strong skills in project management, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and electrical design software.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution systems, including low, medium, and high-voltage networks.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration with facility automation systems.
  • Experience with energy management systems, sustainability initiatives, and LEED principles.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, compressed air, and other facility utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as system engineer for facility automation and information systems, ensuring integration and reliability across platforms.
  • Lead building automation system upgrades and integration with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate HVAC and utility system performance, identifying opportunities for energy savings and reliability improvements.
  • Manage facility servers and access controls, ensuring secure and compliant operation of automation and monitoring systems.
  • Maintain and update electrical safety documentation, including arc flash studies and compliance with NFPA standards.
  • Provide engineering support for electrical modifications, system expansions, and tie-ins, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Oversee facility improvement projects, ensuring accurate updates to operator manuals, utility drawings, and standard work procedures.
  • Support rapid recovery from facility equipment failures, coordinating resources to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
  • Plan and coordinate utility outages and system shutdowns to minimize operational impact and optimize energy usage.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems, including low, medium, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and develop corrective action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, including OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors for project execution and system upgrades.
