Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering, facilities, operations management, project management or closely related industrial environment with emphasis on power/utilities systems and/or controls systems OR a Master's degree and 3 years of directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities, systems, and infrastructure within an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience performing load flow analysis, voltage drop and short circuit calculations, overcurrent device coordination, and electrical utility forecasting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination, arc flash, and reliability analysis.
  • Experience reading and interpreting one-lines and control schematics.
  • Technical writing proficiency.
  • Advanced skills with AutoCAD and MS Visio, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the electrical technical lead for the Facilities & Services & Projects teams.
  • Complete electrical designs independently and oversee & guide engineering firms throughout project life cycles.
  • Develop and define project technical specifications in close coordination with project sponsors.
  • Support peer engineers by providing electrical subject matter expertise for multiple facilities projects.
  • Provide oversight and future-state planning of site electrical distribution system; identify opportunities for system improvements.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts via structured problem-solving methodologies, coordinate system shutdowns, conduct breaker coordination and arc flash studies.
  • Manage electrical load and capacity data and report out findings and proposed solutions to management.
  • Identify system upgrades and lead scope, cost estimate, budget, and ROI analysis to justify capital allocation to management.
  • Review and maintain maintenance logs and maintenance budgets, and complete any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task.
  • Review and approve electrical design specifications, submittals, studies, and drawings for power installations.
