Facilities Design Structural Engineer III

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will apply advanced structural engineering principles to design, analyze, and solve complex structural challenges across our projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) license
- 5+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as RISA or RamElements, and underlying theory
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes and standards
- Experience with material behavior and structural system design
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM software.
- Proficiency in Revit

- Experience in aerospace, industrial, or commercial structural design
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM software
- Experience with advanced analysis methods (non-linear analysis, dynamic loading)
- Knowledge of construction methods and constructability reviews
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities
- Perform complex structural analyses and design calculations for various structural systems and components
- Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications using advanced CAD/FEA software
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and drawings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure structural integrity of projects
- Troubleshoot structural issues and provide technical solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
