Zayo is seeking a Facility Deployment Project Manager who will be a critical member of the project team responsible for the development, planning, engineering, construction, and delivery of new and long-haul route facilities in the United States. Our Facility Deployment Project Manager utilizes tight project controls and proactive problem-solving to anticipate and mitigate issues and keep projects on time and on budget. Our Facility Deployment Project Manager maintains transparent and effective communications with stakeholders. Our Facility Deployment Project Manager reports directly to the Long Haul Implementation Senior Manager. NOTE: We are open to this position working remotely within the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Business degree/acumen, a plus.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in the telecommunications industry with inside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years ISP Engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with all types of inside plant construction methods and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of ISP construction standards, DC Power, HVAC and Generator installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Familiar with all facets of ISP project management including quoting, construction and delivery.
  • Experience managing large capital projects including writing purchase requisitions and receiving/reconciling invoices.
  • Demonstrated exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.
  • Proficient with Outlook, MS365, SiteTracker, Visio, Adobe and Experience with AutoCAD, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of the installation of all critical infrastructure components of the facility to include racks, DC Plant, backup batteries, HVAC units, generator, telemetry equipment and all related materials.
  • Design DC Power system.
  • Design Heat Load calcs and HVAC.
  • Project manage and verify Telemetry network installation.
  • Create and maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Update and maintain project trackers and providing internal weekly project readouts.
  • Manage the ILA vendor relationships.
  • Manage capital expenditures forecasts.
  • Manage procurement of all facility-related materials and equipment.
  • Complete electrical utility forms and facilitate the electrical utility procurement process to obtain electrical design and delivery of power.
  • Work with municipalities and AHJs to meet all local and federal permit requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally across multiple internal functional groups including Sales, Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), Design, Field Operations and NOC to deliver and handoff facility projects.
