About The Position

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general order of the building. This role also involves performing routine patrols around the building, monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and ensuring the overall security of the facility. The position specifically requires working on weekends, with hours from 6:30am to 6:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements

Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely, read labels/instructions (SDS), and operate equipment like vacuums.
Competence in basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Must be a US Citizen for consideration for a government security clearance (if required).
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158 (ITAR requirements).

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of janitorial and facility maintenance experience.
Basic maintenance skills to complete minor repairs in the facility.

Responsibilities

Sweeping and mopping floors, as well as vacuuming carpets daily throughout the offices, hallways and common areas.
Cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking both women's and men's restrooms daily with soap, paper products, and cleaning materials.
Cleaning kitchenette areas as well as surfaces such as cabinets, desktops, telephones, file cabinets, copy machines, computer monitors, bookshelves and other furniture.
Cleaning and sanitizing water fountains.
Cleaning all entry glass doors and side panels of entry areas as well as all other interior windows.
Emptying trash cans and recycling bins.
Replacing trash liners as needed.
Cleaning trash containers if soiled.
Transporting waste to disposal areas.
Performing minor repairs, monitoring building security, and checking for safety hazards.
Ensuring the building and perimeter is secure by routine patrols.
Responding to security alarms, suspicious activity, and emergencies by contacting relevant authorities and appropriate contacts in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
