Summary of Position The Facilities Custodian is responsible for the safe and productive working conditions at Silfab Solar by maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-maintained workplace. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 8PM - 4:30AM.

Requirements

  • High level of attention to detail to ensure that sanitation & quality standards are met.
  • Working knowledge cleaning products used for cleaning & sanitation.
  • Knowledge & use of small hand power tools such as drills, roto hammers, snow blowers, angle grinder.
  • Minor plumbing & carpentry skills.
  • Ability to paint and repair walls.
  • Ability to follow directions closely.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Able to self-start and work independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds independently and participate in team lifts of approximately 60 pounds as required for essential production tasks.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the production floor for extended periods (for the duration of the shift up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Must be able to operate, position, adjust, or move equipment, tools, or materials necessary for production processes.
  • Capable of performing consistent, manual production tasks over long shifts.
  • Must be able to work in typical manufacturing environmental conditions, including areas requiring PPE, exposure to noise, and temperature variation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience in custodial services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs routine cleaning activities.
  • Performs heavy cleaning duties.
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs or vacuums floors.
  • Gathers and empties trash and recycling.
  • Scrubs, sanitizes and supplies restroom facilities.
  • Dusts furniture, walls and equipment.
  • Transfers solutions and chemicals into containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
  • Follows proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning chemicals according to instructions.
  • Cleans fixtures and furniture.
  • Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Notifies supervisors regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by management for the purpose of cleanliness inside & outside the facility.
