The Facilities Construction Superintendent is responsible for the field execution of facilities and pipeline construction projects supporting development and production operations. This role oversees the day-to-day construction activities for D&C-related facility builds and pipeline installations, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget. The Superintendent coordinates with engineering, operations, and contractors to deliver facility infrastructure, pipelines, and associated equipment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 8+ years of oil & gas construction experience, preferably in upstream facilities and pipeline construction.
  • Proven experience supervising teams, facility builds, pipeline installation, and production infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting D&C development programs and field execution.
  • Strong background in contractor and vendor management.
  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas facility construction and pipeline installation practices.
  • Experience managing construction budgets and project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Construction Execution Manage the teams conducting field installation of facilities, gathering pipelines, production equipment, and associated infrastructure projects supporting drilling & completions (D&C) and production operations.
  • Coordinate construction sequencing with drilling, completions, and production teams.
  • Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with engineering designs, specifications, and company standards.
  • Provide field leadership for construction crews and contractors.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management Clearly communicate safety behavior expectations and hold individuals / companies accountable Ensure contractor compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Coordinate contractor scheduling, mobilization, and performance management.
  • Review contractor work scopes, field execution plans, and progress reporting.
  • Budget & Cost Control Manage and track construction budgets for facilities and pipeline projects.
  • Monitor expenditures and approve field invoices in accordance with project budgets.
  • Identify cost risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support development of AFE estimates and project cost forecasts.
  • Project Coordination Interface with Facilities Engineering, D&C, Operations, and HSE teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Support construction planning and execution for POD development projects.
  • Coordinate materials delivery, logistics, and construction scheduling.
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays.
  • Reporting & Documentation Provide regular construction progress updates to the Facilities Engineering & Construction Manager.
  • Track project milestones, costs, and contractor performance.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including construction reports, inspections, and punch lists.
