Position summary: JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for managing construction projects in North Texas, initial project assignment expected to be within 50 miles of Fort Worth, TX. This is a ful-time, on site opportunity. Remote or hybrid work is not available. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staff
  • Ability to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project schedule
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 10HR OSHA Safety card
  • The ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environment
  • Minimum of ten years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, Owner’s Representative or Construction Project Manager or Superintendent
  • Experience with construction and renovation projects and building system repair and restoration that involved active management, oversight and/or inspection of multiple construction trades and close coordination with the Government/Owner on construction issues
  • Knowledge and experience working with Government and Municipal Engineers/Project Managers/CORs on project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reports
  • Experience using SharePoint, Procore, BIM360, HoloBuilder and other construction management software to communicate construction progress and process documentation.
  • Experience reviewing engineering designs, contractor shop drawings and/or vendor specifications and plans, or similar, to determine constructability and practicality of proposed work and adherence to established standards and requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety training
  • Experience on large Federal and/or municipal construction projects
  • Certifications from CMAA (CCM), PMP, PE, or EIT

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site construction management, inspection, and reporting on building construction projects
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects/engineers, and contractors
  • Manage and coordinate inspection staff
  • Manage project schedule from inception to close out
  • Run project job-site meetings
  • Review contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Report on project issues and provide status updates
  • Perform other duties as may be required
