The Facilities Building Systems Technician at The Ohio State University is responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment through the maintenance and operation of mechanical and utilities systems and equipment. Under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor, the technician performs intermediate level tasks including inspecting, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing or replacing building systems and equipment. The role involves responding to emergency situations, evaluating and correcting problems, and initiating appropriate protocols when issues cannot be resolved. The technician also assists other trades, adheres to safety practices, maintains work areas, and provides high levels of customer service while communicating effectively with customers and coworkers.
