About The Position

Muskingum County Library System Facilities Associate / Union- represented position The Muskingum County Library System is seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Associate to join our Custodial Services team . This is a union-represented position. In this role, you will perform intermediate-level custodial and groundskeeping tasks to ensure our library buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all community members . Location: 220 North 5th Street Zanesville, OH 43701 Salary: $16.82 per hour Application Closes: February 20th, 2026

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License
Basic Computer experience
Ability to perform general physical labor, lift and move heavy furniture or equipment, and work in various weather conditions or confined spaces
Use of minor hand tools and equipment; handling minor building emergencies; computer keyboarding; handling credit cards and small sums of money; and prioritizing tasks
library policies and procedures; operation of basic equipment and minor hand tools, and computer applications (i.e. email, basic word processing, automated heating and cooling systems, etc.)

Responsibilities

Open and close library buildings, including arming and disarming security systems
Perform essential cleaning tasks at Main and Branch libraries, such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and emptying trash
Maintain library grounds through mowing, weeding, pruning, sweeping, and snow removal
Monitor and adjust computer-operated heating and cooling systems; replace light bulbs and restock restroom supplies
Set up and tear down furniture and equipment for internal and external meeting room usage
Operate and maintain library vehicles for system-wide deliveries, pickups, and emptying book drops
