The Facilities Associate is responsible for operating company vehicles to transport personnel, materials, tools, and equipment between various buildings, warehouses, and off-site locations. This role supports daily operational logistics while also assisting with facility upkeep, waste coordination, and monthly facility inspections. The Facilities Runner plays a key role in maintaining an organized, safe, and compliant manufacturing environment by supporting Operations with transportation, facilities maintenance, and environmental waste management tasks.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, appropriate for vehicles operated (CDL if required).
  • Previous experience operating commercial or utility vehicles preferred.
  • Experience in facilities, maintenance, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • OSHA certifications preferred but not required (10-hour, 30-hour General Industry, HAZMAT).
  • Basic knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle operation.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of waste handling or environmental practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, utility carts, golf carts) to transport personnel, materials, equipment, and documents between facilities or off-site locations or company events.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials to ensure secure transport.
  • Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, deliveries, and passenger counts.
  • Support Facilities and Production teams by picking up parts, supplies, or materials from vendors and warehouses.
  • Assist with special projects requiring transportation or logistical coordination.
  • Ensure safe and efficient movement of materials to minimize operational disruption.
  • Perform routine facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and repair requirements.
  • Support upkeep of building interiors (offices, restrooms, break areas, production floors) and exteriors (parking lots, landscaping, signage, walkways).
  • Assist with preventative maintenance of building systems and facility equipment as directed.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and facility maintenance equipment in good working condition.
  • Report facility damage, safety concerns, or compliance issues to the Manager.
  • Assist Operations with proper collection, segregation, and transport of waste materials within the facility.
  • Support coordination of waste staging areas for pickup by approved vendors.
  • Assist with monitoring waste containers for: Scrap materials, Fiberglass and composite waste, Packaging and cardboard, Metal scrap, and General facility waste.
  • Ensure waste areas remain organized, labeled, and compliant with safety and environmental standards.
  • Assist with preparation and documentation during scheduled waste pickups.
  • Support spill response procedures by ensuring spill kits are accessible and reporting incidents immediately.
  • Assist with monthly facility inspections to identify safety, maintenance, or compliance concerns.
  • Document findings during facility inspections and report corrective action needs.
  • Support tracking of inspection checklists and follow-up items.
  • Assist with implementing corrective measures related to housekeeping, safety, or minor repairs.
  • Ensure facility grounds and production support areas meet cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Wear required PPE when operating in production or waste areas.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding delays, incidents, or safety concerns.
  • Support OSHA and environmental compliance efforts within Facilities and Operations.
