About The Position

The Facilities Technician at Vertiv is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility by performing routine maintenance, equipment repairs, and building upkeep. This hands-on role ensures that all systems, machinery, and infrastructure are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or general maintenance work.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance software or CMMS (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of ladders or lifts.
  • Occasional kneeling, crawling, or working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance).
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to facility-related work orders, troubleshooting issues and resolving them effectively to reduce downtime.
  • Assist in equipment installations, moves, and general facility modifications.
  • Monitor and maintain building infrastructure including restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and office space to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Work closely with contractors and vendors during repairs or project work; escort and monitor as needed for safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for equipment and work performed.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment and tools meet safety standards.
  • Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and basic groundskeeping duties as needed (site-dependent).
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and notify leadership when reorder is needed.
  • Follow all Vertiv safety policies and procedures, promoting a clean and hazard-free work environment.
