About The Position

Margaritaville Casino & Resort Bossier City is seeking a Facilities Assistant Shift Manager to provide daily supervision and guidance to staff in the Facilities department. This role involves supporting and administering operational goals, monitoring performance and profit objectives, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Assistant Shift Manager will be responsible for supporting compliance with departmental budgets, assisting with maintenance and construction projects, and suggesting best practices for resource utilization. Key aspects of the role include inspecting completed projects, assisting with grounds maintenance, responding to emergencies, ensuring OSHA standards are followed, and adhering to preventive maintenance schedules. The position requires a strong commitment to superior customer service, ensuring team members meet service standards, and maintaining regulatory compliance and confidentiality in all company matters. Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) in Construction, Maintenance, or related field; one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry trades
  • Knowledge of generators, fire pumps, and electrical switchgears
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent and literate in English
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Trade license preferred
  • Previous experience with all aspects of maintenance and engineering (special emphasis on electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and maintenance of all equipment) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance and daily supervision to staff in the Facilities department
  • Supporting and administering operational goals and monitoring achievements of performance and profit objectives
  • Adhering to scheduling and coordinating with manager regarding any concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction
  • Supporting compliance to departmental budgets
  • Assisting with all maintenance and construction projects and suggesting best practices for using in-house resources or outside vendors
  • Inspecting projects after completion for satisfactory results
  • Assisting with grounds crew and maintenance of property grounds, if applicable
  • Responding to all emergencies per established procedures and assisting team members/resources in the event of an emergency
  • Assisting with ensuring OSHA standards are followed
  • Adhering to preventive maintenance schedules for facility
  • Enthusiastically supporting, actively promoting, and demonstrating superior customer service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs
  • Ensuring customer service standards are followed by all team members and addressing issues as they arise
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to management
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
