About The Position

The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day maintenance operations across JABA-owned, leased, and operated facilities. This position ensures that buildings, grounds, and building systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained in support of the organization’s mission. The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor provides direct supervision to maintenance staff and coordinates routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance activities. This role works closely with site and program managers and reports to the Facilities/Asset Manager. The position may require availability outside of normal business hours to respond to facility-related emergencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 4–6 years of experience in facilities or building maintenance
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or lead maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire/life safety, elevators, security systems, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and supervise maintenance work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel, maintenance/work order systems)
  • Good judgment, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders and lifting up to 40 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance staff in daily operations
  • Assign work orders, set priorities, and monitor work completion
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff
  • Support onboarding and safety training for maintenance personnel
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Oversee routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and common areas
  • Identify maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Respond to and coordinate emergency maintenance situations
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Coordinate vendor scheduling and onsite access
  • Monitor vendor work for quality, safety, and compliance
  • Report vendor performance and concerns to the Facilities/Asset Manager
  • Assist with tracking service schedules, warranties, and contractor access
  • Monitor compliance with fire, safety, and OSHA standards
  • Identify and report safety hazards and code violations
  • Assist with maintaining emergency response procedures and supplies
  • Support required inspections and permit compliance
  • Maintain work orders, inspection logs, and maintenance records
  • Track inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Assist with invoice review and documentation
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Facilities/Asset Manager
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with site or program managers
  • Communicate maintenance activities and disruptions to occupants
  • Support move-in and move-out maintenance coordination
  • Support renovations, system upgrades, and special projects as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as required
