  • Apply technical knowledge to solve problems that typically can be solved solely by properly interpreting manufacturer's manuals or similar documents in working with equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, repair, install, adjust, and troubleshoot all types of air conditioning equipment including controls and electrical power to such equipment.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the functions and operations of the operational equipment, systems, and controls at WSTF.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
  • Work with minimal or no supervision after receiving work instructions.
  • Work as a member of a team with other classifications and provide technical guidance to lower-level positions as required by management.
  • Provide quality and timely support services.
  • Perform work efficiently, safely, and to the required standard.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of applicable experience, or related civilian or military trade school training or equivalent plus three (3) additional years of applicable experience for a total of five (5) years.
  • Must possess New Mexico Journeyman Refrigeration (NMJR) certification and EPA-approved Universal Refrigerant Handler.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license (state) and may be required to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License for a specific task.
  • Meet requirements for certification, if applicable, as specified in the White Sands Training database.
  • Must pass a physical examination as determined by the WSTF physical examination requirements for the job classification.
