About The Position

The Gifted and Talented (GATE) Facilitator promotes a growth mindset and collaborates with teachers, principals, and families to identify and nurture advanced academic potential in all students. This role supports Gifted and Talented Teachers while coordinating key components of the district's GATE program, including screening and identification processes, professional learning, curriculum resources, and family communication. The Facilitator works across schools to ensure consistent, high-quality program implementation and alignment of services for identified students.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Required
  • 5-7 years of related experience (including work in a K-12 public school and/or similar project management role) Required
  • Experience coaching adults, providing feedback, and managing laterally or through influence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and foster shared ownership of results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and district data platforms; ability to learn and manage additional systems as needed.
  • Demonstrates a superior ability to analyze data, interpret statistics, create data reports and communicate data findings with a wide audience.
  • Ability to set and communicate clear goals and expectations for self and others.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Has attended or is willing to attend the Gifted Employment Standard Training through Vanderbilt University.

  • Background in science preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes professional development and training for Gifted and Talented teachers, coordinating presenters, logistics, and resources to support instructional practice, collaboration, and coaching of GATE teachers.
  • Collaborates with internal and external research teams to monitor program data and outcomes, ensure program quality, and inform continuous improvement; analyzes, interprets, and responds to data.
  • Creates, edits, and maintains program guidance aligned to GATE department goals, objectives, and the GATE style guide. Updates internal and external web sites to ensure resources are readily available.
  • Supports the team in the development of content-based instruction that is advanced, differentiated, and appropriate for learners of varying levels and abilities.
  • Collaborates with community partners, families, and external agencies to increase awareness of Gifted and Talented Education; responds productively to change and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Develops and executes project plans for ongoing and new initiatives; supports the implementation of new programs and projects through participation in and leadership of team cohorts.
  • Manages the Pre-K Gifted program, including communication with families and Pre-K teachers, coordination of the assessment process, collaboration with GATE Pre-K teachers, scoring of assessments, and management of the Pre-K identification matrix.
  • Manages the Gifted and Talented Teacher Mentor Program to ensure teachers receive appropriate support, connects new teachers with experienced mentors, and provides structured opportunities for peer coaching.
