About The Position

The Facilitator position at Fresno Superior Court is a contract role requiring an attorney with substantial experience in family law. Requirements

• Possession of a Law Degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in the State Bar of California is required.
• Five (5) years of experience in the practice of law, including substantial family law practice.
• Basic understanding of laws and psychological issues related to domestic violence.
• Thorough knowledge of legal principles, precedents, and their application.

• Experience working with low-income, semiliterate, self-represented, or non-English speaking litigants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct self-directed independent research to keep the Self Help office up-to-date on any changes in the law or procedures.
• Perform supervisory duties and serve as the legal resource for the Family Law Examiners.
• Provide assistance in the Self Help office and develop policies and procedures for the departments.
• Assist with the development and oversight of the budget, including making modifications when needed.
• Organize and conduct community outreach programs to raise awareness of available services for residents in Fresno county.
• Participate in various committees as an interagency liaison and ensure all Family Law/Support Self Help packets are updated accordingly.
• Monitor current resource needs and assist in projecting future needs for budget preparation.
• Manage and oversee the FLIC program, including operational scope of contractors and compliance with grant reporting and timekeeping.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
