Riverside Medical Group is seeking a labor pool board-certified or board-eligible Facial Trauma Surgeon to join our expert team at Riverside Ear, Nose and Throat Physicians and Surgeons - Newport News, Virginia. Riverside Ear, Nose and Throat Physicians and Surgeons is seeking a highly skilled Facial Trauma Surgeon to join our practice in a Labor Pool capacity. This role provides specialized surgical care for patients experiencing facial trauma, including soft tissue injuries, fractures, and complex reconstructive needs. The Facial Trauma Surgeon will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care within the Riverside Health System. Ideal candidates are dedicated clinicians with excellent surgical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to compassionate service.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, or a related specialty with focused facial trauma experience.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in the appropriate specialty.
  • Active or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, Trauma Surgery, or relevant specialty.
  • Prior experience in a Level II or Level III trauma environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-specialty or ENT practice setting.
  • Exceptional clinical and surgical skills in facial trauma management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on‑call and scheduled coverage for facial trauma cases, including consultation, evaluation, and management.
  • Perform surgical procedures related to facial trauma, including fracture repair, soft tissue reconstruction, and related ENT/facial trauma interventions.
  • Participate in care coordination with emergency department teams, hospitalists, anesthesiology, radiology, and other specialists as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring physicians.
  • Attend relevant case reviews, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives (as applicable to labor pool status).
  • Adhere to Riverside Health System policies, clinical guidelines, and professional standards.
  • Maintain required certifications, licensure, and continuing medical education.
