About The Position

The Facade Drafter position at a respected commercial building enclosure company in New York involves utilizing AutoCAD to create detailed shop drawings and coordinate with architects and contractors. The role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and quality of facade projects, particularly those involving aluminum composite materials and curtain walls.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Composite Panel, Facade, or curtain wall drafting experience
• AutoCAD experience
• Construction background
• Strong communication and math skills
• Detail oriented, accurate and organized
• Aluminum Composite Material (ACM panel) experience
• Ability to create shop drawings
• Experience in building design

Responsibilities

• Review Architectural drawings and specifications
• Prepare shop drawings for Architects approval and fabrication using AutoCAD
• Prepare Bill of Materials (B.O.M.)
• Field measure and layout
• Coordinate details with Architect and General Contractor
• Draft/Detail Wall Panels, Curtain wall Trims, and Specialty Items such as aluminum screens, Sunshades, and Expansion Joints when required.
