About The Position

Within the Judicial Facilities, Operations and Security Unit and under the direction of the Assistant Buildings and Grounds Officer, the Facilities & Operations Officer I will be required to perform daily cleaning/janitorial, maintenance, and repair projects, as well as assist subordinates and/or vendors in this work. The Facilities & Operations Officer I will assist with the receiving and storage of cleaning/janitorial supplies, maintenance supplies, and building equipment. On-going daily inspection of facilities to identify areas that require cleaning/janitorial and/or repair work. Examples of daily work would include but not be limited to: moving furniture, rubbish removal, snow removal, distributing mail, changing light bulbs, minor repair projects, assisting janitorial staff and vendors, and other work as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Education as may be gained through graduation from a senior high school or successful completion of the high school equivalency examination.
  • Working knowledge of general building operation and maintenance activities
  • Working knowledge of the equipment and methods used in cleaning and custodial work
  • Working knowledge of the materials and equipment used in building operation and maintenance
  • Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, vendors and contractors
  • Ability to troubleshoot telephone system
  • Ability to handle any other facility-related requirements
  • Physically fit to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and climb ladders
  • On call 24/7/365

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning/janitorial, maintenance, and repair projects
