About The Position

The HVAC Apprentice 1 position is responsible for providing a safe working environment while performing maintenance and service on refrigeration systems and HVAC units in grocery stores. The role emphasizes adherence to the company's core values and requires collaboration with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• EPA Refrigerant Certification Class 2
• Ability to prioritize tasks, resources, and schedules
• Working knowledge and computer skills in refrigeration and HVAC maintenance
• Valid state driver's license
• Actively working toward a degree at a recognized technical college
• Ability to work with other teammates
• Flexibility to handle changing assignments and projects.

Nice To Haves

• General technician experience
• Troubleshoot electrical mechanical components
• Maintain records of freon usage
• Perform timely and complete repairs and preventative maintenance
• Develop working relationships with key personnel
• Work closely with a refrigeration mechanic for exposure to service work.
• Maintain ability to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
• Perform service to the stores' refrigeration systems, including air-cooled units and HVAC units.
• Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of the service truck.
• Assist other mechanics as needed.
• Receive orders from dispatch and combine them into a weekly work schedule.
• Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts on the service truck.
• Travel independently to other sites as needed.
