About The Position

Your Tasks: Layout and fabricate a diversified line of products using a variety of machines and equipment including milling, press brakes, shears and welding equipment. Receives work order from Production control. Estimates time and material for fabrication work orders. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Sets up and operates sheet metal fabricating and forming machines to produce parts in accordance with specifications; conducts trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as bend brakes, punches, mills and routers. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Perform assembly work which may involve fitting, spot welding, riveting etc. Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Conducts routine maintenance on primary machine(s). Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
