The Fabricator will perform a wide range of duties within the plant to produce fabricated steel products including, but not limited to, cutting, bending and tying steel bars. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified
• Knowledge of basic hand tools and have an eye for detail
• General welding experience (MIG only) weld and reinforce rebar
• Good attendance and positive attitude a must
• Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure
• Must be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment as necessary
• Ability to stand 8+ hours
• Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Bending, squatting, crouching, and twisting of the body is required daily
• Must be able to work efficiently in an indoor and outdoor environment year round

Responsibilities

• Shake bars out on shear table
• Tie bundles
• Assist in moving long bars and stacking bundles
• Assist with moving and positioning bars for special end preparations
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped
• Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping
• Maintain the shop/designated area in a clean and safe manner
• Other duties as assigned
