About The Position

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fabricator to join our team at John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT). This role is integral to our operations, serving as a "working" mentor position that exemplifies superior welding and fabrication practices. The successful candidate will ensure customer service standards, quality control, and inspection processes are met, while effectively assigning tasks to team members. Key Responsibilities: Mentorship and Leadership:Serve as a backup for other Fabricators and Team Lead as needed.Represent JBT professionally at all times by positively mentoring associates.Provide mentoring to Fabricator Trainees, Welders, and Production Associates, leading by example with excellent technique and quality practices. Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding using TIG and MIG techniques to meet quality standards.Set up welding equipment for various welding types.Read and understand blueprints to select materials, measurements, and weld types, ensuring work is performed to specified tolerances.Handle raw materials occasionally, preparing them for fabrication.Use hand tools for the manufacturing of customer orders. Quality Assurance and Paperwork: Complete all necessary paperwork and quality checks for team associates.Conduct required inspections to maintain quality standards. Safety and Compliance: Ensure work areas are clean and orderly.Comply with all safety rules and regulations, including written safety procedures, policies, and work practices.Report all incidents, including injuries, illnesses, near misses, property damage, chemical spills, and fires to a Team Lead immediately.Participate in safety meetings, training, and committees.Report all hazards, unsafe conditions, or unsafe behaviors to a Team Lead.Intervene with co-workers when unsafe behaviors are observed. Additional Duties: Perform duties as assigned by the Team Lead. Qualifications: Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with expertise in TIG and MIG techniques.
