About The Position
Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
