About The Position

The Fabricator position at Vulcan Materials Company involves building and maintaining production machines while prioritizing safety and adhering to industry standards. This role is part of a three-year apprenticeship program that combines hands-on experience with classroom learning, aimed at developing skills in welding, maintenance, and equipment diagnostics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required; technical school is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of welding materials, properties, and various types of metals.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and wire feed welding machines.
• Experience in brazing, welding, arc-welding, and cutting tasks.
• Some knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance.

• Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on demands.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards throughout the plant.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and detect and replace defective components.
• Perform welding tasks and maintain production machines.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on machines and plant facilities.
• Attend and successfully complete a three-year apprenticeship program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
